Description: Housebroken My approximate birthday is August 25, 2001. I was adopted and just brought back because my family moved where I could not go. I love people. That simple description just describes me to a T. I just plain love. Cute as I can be, I'm full of bounce & energy. I prance around like a deer and am quite a lively and adorable nut, my foster mom says. Remember, I am a Siberian Husky. That means I have a mind of my own! If I see you through a window, I am going to find a way to be with you. If you are walking & have no lap, well, I will just jump up so you can hold me, then. If you're sitting, there's that lap, but if you're walking, be prepared for me in your arms!! I'm a good girl and listen very well. I am really intelligent, too! I really believe dogs just needs hugs & kisses & people to play with. That sounds good to me. Doesn't it to you? I get along just great with children, cats, & dogs. In fact, I adore children so much you MUST have children to adopt me! Extremely friendly & full of personality, I weigh 41 pounds. Oh, yeah. There's that little thing called my history. Would you like to know about it? Be prepared for a sad story. A year ago, a woman in Georgia was arrested on charges of animal cruelty. This was the third time having cruelty accusations brought against her, but the other two counties in Georgia let her go, telling her not to own dogs in their county any more. So she moved. Bartow County was where she based her Siberian Husky puppy mill & was where her luck ran out. When animal control officers answered a complaint from the next-door neighbor about dogs being neglected, they were shocked to find: animals tied out with no shade; food just thrown on the ground...some dogs could reach it, some couldn't; scummy water, what there was of it...many dogs had no access to the rancid stuff; no fencing to keep marauding animals away; bitches with litters confined to loose boxes in a shed, with puppies wandering around; animals with gaping, maggot-infested wounds; bodies of dead animals either still on their chain or just tossed into bushes; no one living in the burned-out house on the property. Charges were brought, but the "owner" was given the chance to clean up her act. She did not comply & was again arrested & charged with cruelty. She decided to have a jury trial, & while the wheels of justice were turning slowly, the dogs were taking up precious space at the local shelter. Finally, a year later, the "owner" was convicted of cruelty charges & sent to jail for 6 months with two years probation to serve after she gets out. Among the dogs was my mother, who was pregnant with me at the time. Thanks to some terrific angels, we are no longer impounded because of a cruel person. Now we just need terrific homes. Thank you for listening to my story. I was named for a hero. See Viva.
